How This System Helps Publishers
BooksandManuscripts.com is another tool for you to find quality work. To that end, we have created a system that gives many features to acquisition editors. These features include:
- Creating/Editing Your Personal Profile. If you haven't already received a personal invitation to browse through our manuscript collection, you can do so here. Otherwise, contact us to retrieve your lost username and password. All access to BooksandManuscripts.com is free for qualified publishers, and your information is completely customizable. It does not appear to any other users of our system.
- Viewing Our Author Manuscripts. After our writers post their proposals, we categorize them so you can search more effectively for what you want to see. Each proposal contains the author's profile, information on the author's literary agent (if applicable), a work summary, table of contents, illustrations (if applicable), and a writing sample.
- Search Our Manuscript Collection on Your Terms. You can perform a search by specific genre or by keyword. You may also browse through our "Premium" Postings (those manuscripts which have been rated as such by independent editors), view your "saved" searches for easier browsing, and view all newly added manuscripts since the last time you logged in.
- Save Manuscripts for Later Perusal. Once you find some manuscripts that are interesting and/or promising, you can print them out or save them to your clipboard for viewing later.
- Forward to a Friend. If you find work that seems promising but isn't right for your department or company, you can forward the proposal to a colleague or friend so they can view it.
- OPTIONAL: Receipt of Our Monthly E-Letter. Each month we highlight promising proposals and send them to qualified professionals in the publishing field. We do not send this E-Letter to anyone other than editors, agents and publishers, and authors cannot pay us to be included in these newsletters. The only way to be included is to have a great proposal and a unique idea. You do not need to enroll in this elective service to be able to login and view manuscripts.
